Dr. James Morton the Head of Nutrition at Team Sky talks to Matt about how to maximise the response of muscles in training.
There are various different methods that are discussed including “fasted” training, restricting carbohydrates after training or maybe no sports drinks when out training.
Also there’s split sessions with no carbohydrate replacement before commencing another session with low muscle glycogen. Sometimes, top athletes will mix all three.
Protein is a real key ingredient to making sure that muscles repair and rebuild after and even during training sessions.
